Word Garden: let’s play

Build crossing words with your friend. Most points at the end wins.

  1. Place: tap a tile on your rack, then an empty square. New tiles go in one row or column, with no gaps. The first word crosses the center star; later words connect to the board.
  2. Check: Check word verifies every new word and shows the score without ending your turn. Tap a placed tile to return it, or Recall tiles to start over.
  3. Play: Play word commits your move and draws replacements. Your friend’s board updates automatically.

Points and choices

Letter values are on the tiles. New tiles on 2L / 3L multiply that letter; 2W / 3W multiply the entire word. Bonuses count only the first time a square is used. A blank is always worth zero. Playing all seven tiles earns 50 extra points.

Pass skips a turn. Exchange tiles lets you choose multiple rack tiles, then exchange them; at least seven tiles must remain in the bag. Six consecutive scoreless turns end the game. When someone empties their rack with an empty bag, unplayed tile points transfer to them; otherwise both players lose their own unplayed points.

Playing on a phone

Zoom board gives you larger squares. Drag to explore the board, then tap to place. Pinch zoom in your browser is also available. Your rack stays below the board.

Dictionary and privacy

This game uses the 172,823-word ENABLE list by M. Leo Cooper and Alan Beale. It differs from official tournament dictionaries. Every word must appear in this game’s dictionary. Proper names, abbreviations and modern slang may be rejected. This is not an official SCRABBLE product and has no affiliation with its owners.

Your rack is private. Your name, moves, and played tiles are shared with the people in your room. Keep the invitation private; anyone with it can take an empty seat. Reopen in the same browser to recover your seat. Internet is required.
