A babymoon is typically a week-long trip in the second trimester of pregnancy (weeks 14 to 28) with destinations chosen for comfort, medical access, low-strain travel, and romantic atmosphere. The eight picks below have all become standard babymoon destinations. Pricing is per couple for a week including flights and mid-tier lodging.

Caribbean all-inclusive relaxation

Punta Cana, Aruba, and Beaches Turks and Caicos (adults-only sister properties) are the three most-common Caribbean babymoon picks. Low-stress logistics, easy access to medical care if needed, and all-inclusive meals that remove pregnancy food-prep concerns. Mid-tier weeks run $3,500 to $6,500 per couple.

Hawaii beach-and-nature pairing

Maui is the strongest Hawaii babymoon pick. Mid-tier condos and oceanfront hotels run $3,500 to $5,500 per couple for a week. The Big Island and Kauai are quieter alternatives at similar pricing. All three have excellent medical infrastructure if issues arise.

US short-haul picks

Napa Valley and Charleston are the two most-common US babymoon picks for couples who want to avoid flights or long travel days. A four to five night Napa babymoon runs $3,000 to $5,000 per couple. Charleston runs $2,500 to $4,200 per couple. Both deliver romantic ambiance, strong food scenes, and short flight times.

European shoulder season (second trimester only)

Lisbon, Rome, and Amalfi all work for babymoons in the first half of the second trimester (weeks 14 to 22) when travel is lowest-risk. Lisbon: $3,000 to $4,500 per couple for a week; Rome: $3,500 to $5,500; Amalfi: $4,000 to $6,500. Avoid international travel past week 28 of pregnancy per most airline and OB guidance.

The hardest babymoon decision is timing. Weeks 20 to 24 are often the sweet spot: past morning sickness, before third-trimester fatigue, and still well within airline flight-eligible windows. Confirm with your OB before booking any international trip.
